Meet Dr. Daye

 FutureDaye was created by Dr. Dayeshell P. Muhammad, known to many as Dr. Daye — an educator, transition strategist, speaker, and mother who once had big dreams but little insight into how to turn them into reality. As a first-generation college student, she had to navigate unfamiliar systems, make major life decisions without a blueprint, and learn through experience what she now teaches with passion and precision. That journey not only shaped her success — it inspired her purpose. 

Today, Dr. Daye is a nationally respected expert in transition planning and positive youth development, with more than 20 years of experience working alongside youth, families, schools, community organizations, and systems. She holds a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Performance Improvement Leadership — which is just a fancy way of saying she helps people and programs move from where they are to where they want to be.

Dr. Daye is the creator of the Life After High School Program at My People Community Services, where she also serves as the Director of Operations, supporting hundreds of youth and young adults every year. She’s worked directly with Cornell University for two years on Positive Youth Development initiatives, written curriculum, facilitated parent and youth workshops, and developed custom assessments to help young people discover who they are, what they value, and how to move forward with clarity.

She is also the creator of FutureU Finder, an interactive online platform filled with assessments and personalized Life Mapping tools designed to help students explore their identity, goals, and future with confidence. Beyond digital tools, Dr. Daye is a creator at heart — she’s produced two community-centered documentaries and facilitated the launch of a successful female empowerment program that amplifies the voices and visions of young women of color.
